Once again this year, Western Mass Code Pink and other community women organized to celebrate International Women's Day. On 3/2, we joined the Northampton Committee to Stop Wars in a showing of "Pray the Devil Back to Hell", the story of Liberian women's work to end the conflict of 1989-2003 in their country. We brought Diane Wilson to the area for 3/8 and 3/9. We thought, who better to have around on this day in these times! Diane joined us for the annual Join Me on the Bridge action, visited and met with folks at Arise for Social Justice, spoke during the evening of the 8th, appeared on a local radio show and joined us for the Women Say NO to NUKES action at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant, including arrest! |
